Rahul Dravid ,a man with silent agression , self belief , confidence and never say die die attitude ended his illustrious international career of 16 year. Any tribute with any words or any praise can’t compensate for his tireless and selfless contribution to the Indian cricket team. His retirement has brought pain to his fans , and a big void in the Indian test team. That’s not at all a surprise after all this gentleman carried the test team over his shoulders .When team was in trouble it was Dravid who came to rescue , if there was a wicket keeper needed then it would be Dravid again who would fill up.He gave each and every bit of himself for the sake of improvement of the team without expecting anything back. For the past 16 years he had been standing like a Wall.He batted some of the fiercest attack in the most atrocious conditions with ease and with difficulty soetimes but his technique always won.t he is an epitome of meticulousness and dedication. If u ask a question that what made him great then the answer is simple, it was was through his hard work, patience, dedication and immense power of concentration. He was a mix of all these rare qualities. That’s what that set him apart from others.

From skill to science, Dravid had everything that a great cricketer needs.Like Tendulkar, Dravid has lot of cricketing records that are either improbable or impossible to break. He is definately the best No 3 batsmen that India has produced. You can go up onelevel to say the world has seen. With India not having good opening stands, Dravid stood as a pillar in the middle to guide India to all the glories. However, one thing that Dravid lacked was exuberance that was necessary to ensure that media covers him all the time. As a soft-spoken highly humble gentleman of the game, he never got his dues. But he din’t complain , why? it is beacuse it was all team for him always not himself or not anybody, it was the team.
I know he does not have centuries like Tendulkar, killer-instinct like
Ganguly, or strike rate like that of Sehwag, but one thing which makes him superior over others is his selfless, generous and unselfish approach towards his love for this game!He left the game with those things which he is known for “dignity”.He made us question the boundries of greatness.some succeed because they are destined to, but Dravid succeeded because he was determined as rightly said by Sidhu. He will always be a symbol of hard work, determination, confidence and many more qualities which we were lucky to have seen.

As now Dravid has retired it marks an end of an era where Test cricket was the predominent form.India will miss the master of old school cricket who din’t understand blitz and bias of current generation.I think his retirement is the biggest shock Indian test team has recieved since ages.I am sure he will continue rendering his contribution to Indian cricket one way or another.I would like to end here with a saying that which Rahul Dravid has exemplified:Patience, Persistence and Practiceleads to PERFECTION. hatts of Dravid.India surely will miss the old chap as he walks into the sunset.

Virat Kohli, young player with extraordinary confidence and self belief. And U-19 world cup winning captain , Indian cricket couldn’t have asked a better vice captain than him. of course, people questioned about him being choosen ahead of gautam gambhir but i say Indian selectors have finally done something really sensible.lets face the fact , its very uncertain of Dhoni leading the team in the longer format for much longer and he himself has expressed doubts over his future in cricket and coming to gambhir, he is 32 years of age, a little bit old for becoming a future captain. so what selectors are looking for is a young energetic leader who can lead the team team for a long time prospect after Dhoni steps down, where of course Kohli is a frontrunner, taking india to U-19 world cup win , and also leading his franchisee RCB for a few matches and being victorous makes him a bright prospect as for being the future captain.

Kohli being the best player for India in recent times makes this selection even more reasonable. Him being choosen as a vice-captain can be seen nothing but as a very bright way forward for Indian cricket.

Despite of many middle order batting failure in team India, this boy has not been given a single chance to play. Manoj Tiwary played his last match against Baroda for Bengal on 21st December since then he was sent to Australia where he remained as a tourist.

3 centuries and one double century. Is it bad? Definitely not. The question is for the selection committee whether they really consider the performance of a player or not. Manoj is not only a good middle-order batsman but a decent part-time bowler. There is no doubt that Raina picked up nicely in some games but not in the important ones so he should have been given a chance.

The good part is, he has not been dropped for the Asia Cup. Everyone should look forward to this new series and hope for some thrilling performance from this young tiger.

Yes I’am talking about Adelaide Test between Australia and India. There is nothing left for India to do rather than planning for T20s now. It’s a bit of stupidity when your captain can’t set proper fields, your bowlers can’t bowl consistently, all your batsman are blind and you don’t have a new strategy. This is indeed one of the worst India’s Australian tour for Indians where most of the players have performed exceptionally worse.

It seems that India is dependent on few players which includes Zaheer Khan for bowling department and Sachin Tendulkar for batting department. After being criticized for his never-coming 100th 100, Sachin Tendulkar still remains the top scorer from Indian batting side. He is still on the crease but this time it’ll be better if he can add some runs to the team.

Finally we can celebrate that India successfully scored over 100 in last test match. If you’re thinking that there is a mistake in the last statement then you should know that there might be mistake in your perception. From last 10 matches all we cared about was Sachin Tendulkar’s 100th International 100. Do we really need to care? I think it’s a complete waste of time to cheer for someone’s personal milestone rather than team’s performance. Please give some space for Sachin, he will score his 100th ton whenever the right time will come. At the moment, all he has got with him is pressure from all over the world.

Instead of this personal milestone, what we really need to care is India’s overall performance. If Sachin is scoring 70s or 80s and getting out without scoring a ton, it’s fine but if your team is not able to score more than 200 in a test match in 1st innings or not able to restrict the opponent under 1st innings trial or target and losing with a big figure of runs and an innings then it should be a point of concern.

Looking at the Australian side, all they have with them is confidence and support. What India needs is Confidence and support from the country. That’s enough.

This one is something out of the mind of England’s former captain Mr. Michael Vaughan. It seems he is being trolled by some Indian users these days on social networking site Twitter. In the picture below you can see what exactly has happened. The picture shows Vaughan asking to translate a sentence written in Hindi (Indian language) which is not just a sentence but a big swear comment. Vaughan, innocently asks people to translate and again he was trolled by an Indian who mistranslated the sentence to him. Later on he tweets again with another troll comment sent to him.

He says “I must start learning Punjabi.. I seem to be getting lots of tweets in that language.” . It i’ll be better if he doesn’t try to learn the language because if he does, he will thinking of quitting the Twitter.

Seems to be funny for Indians but Indian people should remember that disrespecting a foreign personality will reflect their own culture. All we can wish for Mr. Vaughan is to get what the tweets sent to him actually mean.

After a huge defeat in the first test match against Australia, India seems to have lost control on the initial innings of the game in the 2nd Test at Sydney. Indian batting line-up falls again with the score 191 for All out.

There is no doubt on Australian bowling line-up or the consistency from Ben Hilfenhaus but it seems that India is not able to get a good start. Opening innings with their all time favorites Gambhir and Sehwag doesn’t seems to be working at all. While Sehwag is not able to pick the start to a big score, Gambhir is unable to get a start of his innings. He also seems to be facing difficulties while facing Pace bowlers.

If India have to save their batting, they must do something with the opening pair, if Gambhir is not working then Rahul Dravid can also be a good option.

Were you expecting improvements in Indian team in terms of team selection after a dreadful performance in the World T20 2010? If yes then you might have to wait for a few more months since the Indian selection committee still trust the young guns. There is no Sachin, Dhoni, Sehwag, Harbhajan, Zaheer and Yuvraj in the team for the Zimbabwe tri-series. The team will be led by the young Suresh Raina who performed nicely in the ICC T20 World Cup 2010.

There are good selections like Naman Ojha, Pragyan Ojha and Amit Mishra in this new team but there are some selections which need to be reviewed.

Murali Vijay

He is well known for his overconfidence, wrong selection of shots and a dreadful batting performance in the T20 World Cup 2010. Whenever people expected a decent innings from him, he just ruined their expectations. Does he deserve a another chance?

Yusuf Pathan

His full name is Yusuf ‘Money’ Pathan. Yusuf has got too many chances in the International team but he has never proved his selection to be useful for the team. The Selection committee expected him to perform well in the World T20 after an excellent innings in the IPL but he was not able to stand in the crease for even 10 minutes. Also, he must have realized till now the difference between the T20s and the ODIs.

Ravindra Jadeja

Drop catches, inconsistency, lack of skills and lack of experience. Ravindra Jadeja may be handy for the T20s but he doesn’t suit for the ODI team. He first has to improve his basics rather than competing against the International teams.

It seems that the Indian selectors are overconfident on their youngsters but they should keep in mind that there is also a another team in the series who have defeated them recently. This team may tackle the Zimbabwe players but it may be difficult for them to fight against Sri Lanka have who recently qualified to the Semi-finals of the World T20 after defeating India brilliantly.

Take a look at the Indian squad and then you can easily judge the intelligence of the Indian selectors:

Suresh Raina (c)

Dinesh Karthik (wk)

Virat Kohli (vc)

Rohit Sharma

Murali Vijay

Naman Ojha (wk)

Vinay Kumar

Umesh Yadav

Ashok Dinda

Pankaj Singh

Amit Mishra

R Ashwin

Pragyan Ojha

Yusuf Pathan

Ravindra Jadeja

127 in just 56 balls, one of the best innings in IPL which was scored by India’s newest talent Murali Vijay from Chennai Super Kings which also lead them to easy win against Rajasthan Royals. His name was all over the blogs, newspapers and televisions. People started calling him to be “India’s upcoming superstar” and also compared him to openers like Sehwag.

He was a luck guy who got a golden chance to play in ICC T20 World Cup 2010 from India when Sehwag was declared unfit. In the first match against Afghanistan, he opened the batting for India and made his International T20 debut. First ball, four! “Here comes the big talent” “What a shot man!” “Wow”. Indians cheered everywhere. Vijay scored 48 runs in the first match and impressed everyone. People thought that they finally have got a replacement for Sehwag.

Second match, out! “He is out on first ball!” Was that expected from him? Okay no problems, sometimes that happens. Third match, he played just 7 deliveries in which he wasted 5 and scored just 2 runs. In his fourth match, he scored just 7 runs and finally changed the minds of Indians.

He was able to score only 57 runs in 4 matches in the tournament with an average of 14.25. The most amazing thing is that 48 runs were scored against a team who just managed to qualify to the World Cup.

The simple logic behind this is, Indian pitches are pretty easy to score runs but if you’ll look around International pitches of South Africa, West Indies or England, you’ll see uneven bounce which won’t allow you to score runs easily. Dhoni should have selected Dinesh Kartik who is an experienced batsman than the debutant Murali Vijay. You would be shocked to see that in all his 4 innings, Vijay was caught out which showed his weird selection of shots and lack of experience against world’s best bowlers. Mistakes repeated again and again, in the end, end of India.

Fans should keep in their mind that Virender Sehwag is world’s one of the best opener and a young boy cannot replace him.
